Another day over and another beginning of the week! How come two days midweek seem so much longer than the two days of the weekend..?? Hmmm... Perhaps I should seriously look into a national campaign to increase the weekend. Wouldn't it be wonderful to wake up on a Monday morning and then roll over for another snooze! Heaven!
Ok, back to reality. Time to pack the lunches, get clean blouses & socks out, wash up the dinner dishes, bank off the fire, sort out the laundry and get veges ready for tomorrow's dinner... and the list goes on!! The joys of motherhood!! :-)

For Granted
Everyone is quick to remember and mention the bad things or misfortunes they have endured in life and so easily forget the joys and blessings. I read somewhere recently that those who regularly say what they are grateful for and count their blessings are less likely to suffer from high blood pressure and also experience lower levels of stress.
I don't know how true that is but I recall a few years ago a friend of mine challenged me to write out, every morning for 30 days, three things I was grateful for and why. The one rule was that nothing could be repeated in the same week.
Easy peasy!! No trouble whatsoever. In fact completely enjoyable and grounding I'd say!
Nooooooooottttt!!! I found myself waxing lyrically about double feicin glazing by day 6 and ziploc bags by day 13. Happier? Less stress?? I feicin dreaded getting out of the bed in the mornings because I knew my little book of "sunshine" awaited me!!
I decided by day 15 I wasn't going to do it anymore because "it was stupid and I hadn't the luxury of time to devote to it because I was a very busy woman". Unfortunately the book had other ideas... telepathically it informed me that I was useless and ungrateful. I was a quiter and quite frankly unimaginative. Often I'd hear it simply tut!!
Well I'd feicin show it!! As soon as I went home on day 17 I filled it with sweetness and light, waxing lyrically about my wonderful life, family, friends, job, clothes, hobbies, you name it!!! Then I burned the fucker! I sat back on my hunkers gleefully watching as the flames reduced it to thin wispy white curls. .
I was feeling mighty smug! Until a little voice piped up inside me to say "well that's you screwed then. There are all your blessings going up in smoke". ::gulp::
